Kirkland & Ellis and Syllo Reach Strategic Partnership on Litigation AI
Kirkland & Ellis, the world’s largest law firm by revenue, and Syllo, the first unified platform for litigation case management, eDiscovery, legal research, analysis and drafting, today announced a multiyear strategic partnership that marks a defining step in Kirkland’s litigation AI strategy. The partnership gives Kirkland the exclusive ability to build proprietary solutions within and around the Syllo AI platform, which Kirkland selected for rollout across its litigation practice following a multiyear evaluation of the market.
“We’re excited to take this next step in our AI build-out,” said Andrew Kassof, who leads Kirkland’s litigation practice as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “Syllo’s platform and our exclusive custom-build rights will allow us to bring our most senior judgment and proprietary know-how to bear in our development and deployment of litigation AI, delivering strategic advantages, differentiated service, greater efficiencies and better results for our clients across the lifecycle of litigation.”
Kirkland plans to build on Syllo’s foundation through a unique set of rights to develop proprietary AI solutions and knowledge infrastructure that extend and interconnect with the platform. This arrangement is exclusive to Kirkland for an extended period.
“Syllo is different from anything else in the market,” said Elizabeth Hess, litigation partner and member of Kirkland’s Executive Committee. “Its platform, knowledge infrastructure and agentic solutions for litigation are decisively ahead of every other solution we evaluated over an extended period. More importantly, we’re excited about our ability to extend those capabilities through custom development that captures Kirkland’s distinctive knowledge and institutional experience.”
“Kirkland conducted one of the most rigorous technical evaluations we have ever been through before selecting Syllo as their core litigation AI technology,” said Jeffrey Chivers, CEO and head of product at Syllo. “We built the Syllo platform and Litigation Agent to augment and amplify attorney capabilities. Kirkland’s decision to build on Syllo reflects the depth and unique strengths of our platform, which powers the work of our clients across the market every day. We are proud to support the next chapter of litigation at Kirkland, and the litigators everywhere who rely on Syllo.”
